Through this trusting relationship, we collaborate, build upon inherent strengths, and work toward healing and growth. I bring warmth, authenticity and direct feedback to my clients (adults college age and up), who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship/family conflicts, stress around life events and transitions, and others issues that can arise following trauma.

I enjoy open, honest, and straightforward people who are ready to dig into what is important to them. I am also comfortable being there to walk beside them as they explore complex experiences and feelings to better understand the life changes that would be most helpful for them. I especially enjoy working with people who want to find ways to better cope through nervous system regulation or helping people manage OCD and anxiety through exposure work. I have specialized training in CBT ERP exposures, which is an industry gold standard treatment for OCD, anxiety, and panic.

My passion as a therapist stems from my deep roots as a forever listener, supporter and lived life experiences. Within my own complex background, I have always been the person, people turned to when they needed a listening ear. I worked throughout my lifetime to understand the balance between listening and gently guiding people when it felt right in the moment. I learned from a young age, the importance of sitting with our feelings as a way to process and allow those feelings to move through us so they can be released.

Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and grounded in real life. I work with teens (14+) and adults who are struggling with OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, or big life changes. Many of my clients feel stuck in cycles of worry, self-criticism, or avoidance, and want concrete tools to feel more in control of their lives again. Together, we clarify what you’re hoping will be different—feeling less overwhelmed, being kinder to yourself, improving relationships, getting back to things you care about—and create a plan to get there.

As a therapist, I prioritize being a non-judgmental listener. Sitting with me should feel like sitting with a friend or a coach who can help by listening and providing feedback. However, this is your therapy, and you will decide what you're going to do in your life. Showing up is the hardest part, but we can work on the rest together. I will offer feedback that might be challenging at times, but I will always respect your boundaries. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. Some people come to therapy because they’re stuck. Others are trying to figure out what they want from life—or how to keep going when nothing feels right. Maybe you’ve lost sight of your goals or let go of dreams that once mattered. Maybe you’re exploring your spirituality or trying to find meaning in what you're going through. Whatever it is, we can talk about it. I also offer life coaching and dream work if you're looking to grow beyond traditional therapy. This is a space for healing and moving forward.

Finding the right therapist with whom to create a strong therapeutic alliance is paramount to success. I work with my clients in a framework of compassion, honesty, trust and safety. Together we will identify your goals, empower you to change what you can in your life and to learn acceptance, not passive resignation, for that which you can not change. Carl Jung put it best, “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become”.

My ideal client is someone who is struggling with physical symptoms as well as anxiety and depression and trying to navigate the world trying to "look OK" when they don't feel that way. I help people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired live their best lives, assertively communicate and follow through with their boundaries, and cope with symptoms that require accommodation without apologies.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
