I am a licensed psychologist with more than 20 years experience, helping people to work through relational and emotional impasses, frustrating and self-defeating patterns, and internal pain, towards awareness and increased enjoyment of life. My approach is eclectic, and I work interchangeably with psycho-dynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and a systems based understanding of each individual or couple.I have expertise working with adults from early adulthood to the elderly, and with couples in conflict. I work actively with my individual and couple clients, and engage them collaboratively and respectfully in the therapy.
I strive to help people to feel comfortable in a process that can be anxiety-provoking, and try to create a place that is both safe and at times challenging, when needed. Feeling free to feel and speak openly is essential for healing, and I encourage that.
Being a therapist is rewarding to me, as I value helping people with the issues that most matter to them. I have a comfort level working with individuals and couples: challenging issues such as sexuality, shame, self-doubt, anxiety, depression, and conflict. Feeling safe, encouraged, and increasing awareness leads to change.
