Some concerns that bring people to me are their experience of loneliness, depression, and anxiety; feelings of worry, emptiness, and sadness; a search for connection and meaning in relationships and work; life transitions; perfectionism; self-doubt; relationship difficulties; divorce ; searching for life direction and a sense of purpose; loss and grief; and exploration of identity. I work with people through collaborative, interactive conversation to help them gain insight, to develop strategies to approach their life challenges, and to feel known and understood. People describe me as empathic, genuine, and with a sense of humor.

We can rediscover, use and build on these to find solutions to your challenges. I will be listening without judging and exploring new possibilities, goals and next steps with you. Many people find talk therapy the key to feeling well and happy again. You can learn to replace fearfulness or feeling lost and live with more meaning & contentment. We can work briefly, as needed, or longer term - by Zoom/FaceTime or telephone.

~ NOT EXCEPTING NEW CLIENTS ~ I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful individuals, couples and families, and for them to trust me with the sensitive details of their lives!  My practice is designed to provide a warm, non-judgmental environment to safely explore unhelpful thoughts, feelings & behaviors which are getting in your way, and more importantly, focusing on strengths and positive traits which are the foundation for change.

Some people struggle for weeks, months, or even years before considering psychotherapy. And it makes sense — it's hard to confide in a stranger and can take a while to find the right fit. We want authenticity and experience in a therapist but also someone relatable and easy to talk with. When couples counseling, family therapy, or child/adolescent support is needed, the search may seem even more daunting. We need a clinician with the interpersonal skills, temperament, and adaptability to forge a meaningful connection with our partners, children, and the networks who support them.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of helping others, I have learned that making a genuine connection with people is the best way in which to begin the work of therapy. One of the most important skills I have to offer is to carefully and compassionately listen to what you have to say. We then go from there; when you are ready, we begin to look at how to change.

Using a whole child approach, I work with children ages 4 through 17, helping them to develop critical skills necessary to manage and cope with anxiety, grief and loss, school problems, and social skill deficits. I have over 30 years working in schools, on special education teams, and in private practice supporting children with a range of mental health, developmental, and school related issues. With extensive experience working as a school social worker within public school settings, I help parents better understand the school system and support parents in navigating the IEP and 504 Plan process.
