I provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore challenges, and create lasting change that leads to psychological and emotional well being. Coming to counseling takes courage, but can lead to an increase in your overall quality of life, help you gain insight into recurring problems, and provide skills to reduce anxiety, depression and other painful symptoms. With over 25 years in the field of psychotherapy and clinical psychology education, I am versed in traditional theory and treatment, as well as the use evidenced-based alternative treatments based on client's needs.
My approach is a mix of healing techniques from cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theories. You will learn coping skills that provide immediate relief from unwanted thoughts and symptoms. The psychodynamic approach allows us to explore how past experiences effect the present and how long standing emotional patterns contribute to suffering.
I do not judge behavior. I listen with unconditional positive regard, and believe that the relationship between client and therapist is a crucial part of the healing process. Our relationship will unfold within the framework of confidentiality and utmost sensitivity to cultural, racial and societal issues.
