As emotional healing takes place, we awaken to ourselves, to others, to our lives. My work initially involves setting up an environment of safety and trust. In this surround, challenges from the past and present can be unearthed, explored and used to our advantage. Growth is born of struggle, not comfort. Building a story of your experiences, helps one find continuity and purpose in life. I am present, listening and feeling as our work unfolds. I challenge and confront but also validate one's experiences and emotional responses to those experiences. Being seen, heard and understood begets healing.
I bring thirty years experience as a therapist, specializing in long-term work. I have also worked in conflict resolution and crisis intervention. My specialties are relationships, depression, anxiety, & trauma. I help the client identify feelings and assist them in developing an emotional language. I believe this is the essence of our well-being.
The focus of session is often on the strength of our communication as client and therapist. This refinement of language will transfer from our sessions back to your loved ones. Ultimately it will mean feeling more understood by others and having easy access to empathy. I think you will find conflict builds the strength of relationship vs. tearing it down.
