Experiences of grief and death can make us feel lost and overwhelmed. I work with LGBTQ individuals and other adults looking for a seasoned psychotherapist to guide them through grief and life transitions. Every encounter with loss carries unique pains and sorrows. This is especially true for queer folks whose relationship to family and community can be complicated. I work with people across the spectrum and layers of loss - deaths, estrangements, life transitions, and more - and I tailor therapy to your needs wherever you are in the process.
In my experience, the so-called “stages of grief” are more like waves that come, go, and come back again over time. I provide a warm and easy-going environment where you will become better equipped to cope with these waves of big emotion as they arise.
My practice is directly informed by my background in cultural anthropology and Buddhism, which helps me think about the people I work with in their emotional, social, and/or spiritual contexts. I will work with you to build a therapeutic relationship grounded in curiosity, respect, and safety, encouraging self-exploration, healing, and growth.
