At times life events are too much for us to handle alone and perhaps there is a need for extra support to work through managing the transition. Therapy provides a safe space for you to explore the uneasy feelings and teach you skills to cope. Together we will explore the uncomfortable to ease the transition into your new chapter in life.
In addition to using evidence-based therapy models such as Cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Motivational interviewing, and Solution-Focused therapy, I use my life experiences (such as adoption, grief, chronic illness) as an aid to relate and support clients.
I bring a unique outlook to our sessions as my first-hand experiences provide a deeper understanding of the struggle you are facing. I understand my experience is not the same as yours but I believe having someone who is able to relate in some capacity is key to building a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship.
