About
My clinical work is founded around my values of compassion, equality, authenticity, flexibility, and resiliency. I take a client-centered and evidence based approach to empower you to navigate life challenges. I'll guide you to discover what is really important to you; shifting the perspective on your current struggles; and strengthening your life skills and resilience to more effectively deal with social, professional, academic, vocational, personal, familiar, emotional, and interpersonal challenges that brings us pain -an inevitable part of just being a human. My treatment approach is Acceptance & Commitment Training (ACT).
ACT is about taking effective action both mindful and guided by our values. The purpose of ACT is to increase psychological/behavioral flexibility and therefore our physical, emotional, and social well-being. I will assist you in handling more effectively your pain and to persist in actions that will make your life work, even when in the face of this pain.
I will introduce you to a variety of skills that we will practice together (mindfulness, acceptance, committed action, etc.). I am going to meet you where you are at, help you identify what is getting in the way of you pursuing what you most care about, and help you shape your life into one that you love. Let me join you in this journey.
