I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Psychologist licensed in New York and New Jersey. I have extensive experience working with such conditions as anxiety, depression, work-related stress, grief/loss, life transitions, parenting issues, relationship issues, developmental trauma, racial trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I trained in psychodynamic, cognitive/behavioral and emotionally-focused therapy with individuals, couples, parents and families. My approach to psychotherapy is integrative as I draw from traditional insight-oriented and cognitive therapies as well as experiential body/mind, and psychobiological techniques.
I am experienced working with a diverse population. My personal background informs me more specifically in my work with the Latinx, African-Americans and members of the LGBTQ+ communities. Specialty groups include older adolescents, young adults and college students, some with histories of learning disabilities and trauma.
In my collaborative work with clients, we both set the agenda and framework for addressing issues. My therapeutic style is warm, interactive and psychoeducational. My non-judgmental approach helps clients feel safe in disclosing and discussing their concerns. I provide clients with tools/resources which they can use outside the sessions.
