English
| español I remember my own experience meeting my new therapist. I was anxious to talk to a new person. I did not know if I would make sense. I did not want to feel judged. I remember feeling lost and hopeless. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to change the bad feelings and I resisted to believe that there was something wrong with me. I wanted someone who could guide me to understand my world and myself. I wanted a safe space. I needed to find someone who could collaborate with me in changing and resisting. I did not want a therapist who treated me as a study object. I just wanted to feel fully human.
As a psychotherapist, I am committed to challenging traditional frames in therapy. I value the relationship with people who meet with me for therapy. I have experience working with Queer people and their families, immigrants and people who struggles with trauma, depression, anxiety, and the impact of violence and oppression in any of its ways.
I believe we are an intersection of identities and those identities influence the way we navigate the world and our relationships. I have experience working with individuals, couples, groups and families. I am a bilingual Latinx queer therapist that uses humor and music in sessions.

Processing Group for Doctoral Students of Color

This weekly ZOOM group is for doctoral students of color navigating academia and its systemic challenges. It offers a supportive space to explore the intersections of race, class, gender identity, and sexual orientation while building community and resilience. Grounded in social justice, the group aims to deconstruct and navigate harmful academic norms and affirm lived experiences. A six-month commitment is required to foster consistency and trust. All prospective members must complete a screening interview to ensure the group is a good fit and to establish shared agreements before joining.
