I work with many young adults (university students and young professionals) and with adults from across the lifespan (18+). I have experience with both mental health needs (mostly life transitions, depression, and anxiety) and with folks wanting to change their relationship with substance use (who are at a point in their recovery process where outpatient therapy can meet their needs).
The strength of the relationship is my primary focus in therapy. I approach relationships with openness and curiosity; and strive to be trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally humble/responsive. My practice style mostly draws from Rogerian Psychotherapy (person-centered, insight-oriented) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I moved to Madison for my undergraduate degree, and now life has taken me to Denver. Outside of work, I enjoy being a husband and uncle, traveling, staying physically active, playing and watching hockey, going to concerts, playing video games, building Lego sets, tinkering with my car, and keeping up with TV shows.
