My love for psychoanalytic work is founded on my great respect and faith in the soul's capacity to revitalize itself, given sufficient support and care. In the therapeutic relationship, the psyche is held secure while debilitating emotions such as grief, depression, or anxiety are processed and transformed.
As a Cuban refugee, I am acquainted with the Exile -- immigrants, foster children, LGBTQ, and all those who feel cut off from the dominant culture. My work is guided by Jungian psychological ideas of a creative unconscious that is ever working towards a unique, purposeful destiny in the individual.
