I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of stress and anxiety-related issues, whether due to trauma in the past, or career, life or job changes. I am experienced in treating combat-related stress, family of origin issues, sexual abuse or institutional/religious abuse. I have experience with anger problems, addictive disorders, and life's challenges. I am experienced working with sexual orientation and other issues of self-identity.
My approach to trauma treatment utilizes exposure therapies such as cognitive processing, narrative processing, EMDR, or prolonged exposure. I use mindfulness skills and cognitive behavioral therapy to treat anxiety, addictive disorders, as well as anger management, and an existential approach to issues of self-esteem, self identity, and grief and loss.
I have a holistic approach to assessment and treatment. I enjoy helping clients identify their own unique strengths to overcome obstacles in their lives. Compassion is an integral component to therapy and I believe that growth and change are fostered in an environment of non-judgmentalism, in which individual differences are honored.
