I believe psychotherapy works when the relationship is genuine and real. What makes it feel safe isn’t that the therapist holds back or doesn't experience judgment, it’s that the relationship itself is prioritized; it is rooted in connection, authenticity, humility, and compassion. I also think that dynamic shouldn't be unique to therapy; it's not some sacred space. That’s what healthy relationships should look like, period. I take a relational, insight-oriented, and engaged approach. You won’t get a blank slate—you’ll get someone who’s willing to sit with you, challenge you compassionately, and promote your health and well-being.

I work with people who carry a lot—therapists, physicians, and other helpers who are used to holding it all together. I bring a strong social justice lens to my work. I don’t see therapy as separate from the world we live in. Racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other systemic forces shape how we relate to ourselves and others.

In my own searches for a therapist, I know finding someone who is warm, authentic, humorous, and approachable is extremely important. Mental health can and should be just as focused on improving welI-being. I train therapists and care deeply about how the next generation of therapists shows up.
