My treatment approach is person-centered. I bring an empathic, genuine, active and non-judgmental attitude to my encounter with each client to facilitate a safe and collaborative exploration of contributing factors to the problem (s) addressed in therapy, which in turn allows me to draw from interventions that best fit the client. My treatment philosophy is that the aim of psychotherapy is to help clients feel better and become empowered with gained awareness of themselves and their life situation (s) and skills with which to lead a more satisfying life.
I treat depression, anxiety, trauma (abuse and/or single incident trauma); anger problems, grief/loss, ADHD, in adults and minors, adjustment to life transitions, and relationship/interpersonal issues, and I typically incorporate an exploration of the impact on current functioning in these areas from earlier life experiences and relationships.
