With over 20 years of experience in mental health and social work, my passion is working with women who are recreating their identity after life transitions including grief, divorce, and loss. As a single mom, I understand life can be stressful trying to balance supporting your child and yourself with minimal support. Women who are starting over are my specialty and I've learned at some point, everyone has to pivot, shift, and create their second act. It's a privilege to walk with Black women through the process as they learn to decide it is worth it to do what's best for you.
I use EMDR as a treatment tool to support reducing the level of trauma experienced on a daily basis. I also incorporate Christian counseling and talk therapy to develop healthy spirituality and emotional wellness. We focus on the root of the problem not the symptoms so therapy can be part talk, part homework and body movement.
It takes courage to realize things aren't working in your life and it's time for a change. This is a safe place to explore your patterns that are creating the life you love or the life you hate.
