I have 30 years of experience as a psychodynamic psychotherapist and provide a warm and safe environment for patients who want to change how they think and feel about their lives and their relationships. I work with young adults, adults, and couples. I am trained in Relational/Interpersonal Psychoanalysis, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) (a short-term treatment for depression which focuses on relationships) and attachment-based EMDR for the treatment of Trauma. I believe in the ability of individuals to make changes in their lives and to transform themselves through insight, relationships, and through their own innate abilities
I am a Relational psychoanalyst who specializes in depression, anxiety and relationships. I am also a trauma-informed therapist with training in complex relational trauma. In addition I am the Director of the Certificate Program in Trauma Studies at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis where I teach and supervise.
I am a very experienced thoughtful and creative psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, and I am passionate about talk therapy's potential to heal and help individuals and couples make changes in their life.

Groups
Trauma Survivors and postpartum support group

This group is for postpartum women with a history of relational complex trauma (incest, sexual abuse, rape). Becoming a parent can trigger past traumas and complicate new parents' feelings about parenting. In a safe and supportive environment, this will be an ongoing psychotherapy group, a process and interpersonal therapy group to address parenting and being a survivor of sexual abuse. The group will focus on adjustment to a new role and identity as a parent while integrating one's past history of abuse.
