I have worked with all racial/ethnic groups, including American Natives, lifelong residents of a busy East coast metropolis and others who live in the rural Southwest, teens through the elderly. I have extensive experience diagnosing and treating individuals with ADHD, addictions, and Autism. I have gained the trust of many active duty military and veterans, as well as first responders. I am not easily scared off by extensive trauma and my toolbox includes EMDR, EFT/Tapping, CBT and Mindfulness Techniques.
My work is often trauma-focused, and I have expertise in EMDR, mindfulness and mind-body therapies such as AIT and EFT. During COVID I was happy to discover that these modalities work quite effectively through telehealth. WIth few exceptions, however, I believe it is the relationship between client and therapist that heals. We all have a story to unpack.
Clients will most likely benefit from working with me if they are seeking a genuine, compassionate, down to earth connection with a seasoned professional. I believe that our history explains how we got to now but has no bearing on what we can become. Having sage, good-humored companions some of the way along life's path can make all the difference.
