I help clients push through challenges to find fulfillment, well-being and balance in love, work and play. I have many years experience counseling individuals, couples and families. My style is collaborative, practical, honest and warm. I listen deeply, with compassion and without judgement. My approach is psychodynamically oriented, but eclectic. I draw from various evidenced based approaches, catering to each client’s unique needs. I use strategies from CBT, Mindfulness, Narrative, Family Systems, Strength Based, and Solution-Focused therapies and from Emotional Intelligence, Organizational/Academic and Life Coaching approaches.

I am most experienced with clients who seek help with parenting, life transitions, life balance, relationship and marital issues, family issues, ADD, school problems, grief, emerging adulthood/launching, anxiety, self-esteem, loneliness, and managing stress/challenges, especially those related to chronic health conditions such as food allergies.

I see psychotherapy clients in NYC and coaching clients virtually or in Westchester or NYC. My office(s) are a safe and accepting space, where clients are encouraged to explore the past and present, gain insight, challenge themselves to grow and celebrate progress. Take that first step towards empowerment and change. Call to see how we might work together!

Lori Moussapour's Groups

Food Allergy Support Group

I offer ongoing support groups for those recently diagnosed with food allergies and those facing unique food allergy challenges. The groups provide support, education, and empowerment, improving confidence and competence at living with food allergies. Each group tailors its content to meet participant needs. While medical advice is never offered, participants learn about navigating schools (+504's) or work, celebrations, extra-curricular, summer camps, dining out, travel, etc.... I focus largely on wellness, helping participants harness the protective factors of worry to promote healthy allergen vigilance while mediating and minimizing the unhealthy ones (i.e. anxiety, food or activity avoidance.)
