I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. Next (but really kind of parallel to the other stuff) is helping you build up emotional literacy, cognitive clarity, and self-management skills. Mindfulness, Values-based Decision Making, Reframing thoughts and urges, Resilience, Self-care.
First, we figure out what the problem underneath the problem is. Do what we can to grab the low-hanging fruit and get some relief fast as we can. Then we look for the stuck spots that keep kicking you over into unhelpful autopilot and do some processing to help calm those suckers down.
I've endured a lot, failed a lot, and figured out some things along the way. I feel lucky to be at a place in my life where I can use what I've learned to help others. We do it together, frequently checking in on progress and the need to revise or reprioritize.
