As a clinical psychologist my goal is to help clients find ways to help themselves be happier and more satisfied with their lives. People usually come to therapy because they are suffering in some way: perhaps anxious or depressed or they have trouble finding or sustaining meaningful relationships. The goal of treatment is to begin to talk openly and honestly about the obstacles in ones life and to think about how to move forward. I will work toward putting you in charge of your own well being, but I will also work carefully to ensure you are safe and well cared for: this will be a collaborative effort.
I work with a range of issues including mood disorders: relationship issues, parenting as well as with people who have experienced trauma in one form or another. I am trained in psychodynamic and relational modalities as well as trauma informed approaches to treatment. My experience as a student of meditation and yoga also plays a part in my work.
Core to my work is the belief that we are all capable of healing provided we are curious ( or willing to get curious) about what has happened along the way to make us who we are. I want you to find your inner strengths and believe in your own fundamental health and wholeness. I would like to be your guide but I want you to learn to trust in yourself.
