My style is heavily collaborative with my clients and I work hard to ensure clients feel comfortable and heard regardless of identity or background. I make continual efforts to stay educated and my passion lies with under-served populations in need of safe places to seek counseling. Sessions are goal-oriented, strengths-based, and my role more like a Virgil to a client's Dante; I intend to serve as a gentle and informed companion on a client's personal journey.
I'm a LCSW and an out trans person specializing in trauma and LGBT-issues, particularly transgender. I also help with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, grief, interpersonal and sexual violence, abuse, and relationship issues. My primary modalities are Solution-Focused/Strengths-Based, CBT, motivational interviewing, and DBT. Also intermediate level Somatic Experiencing.
For transgender clients, my personal background offers a uniquely informed space, and I also work with loved ones of trans and LGB+ people. I also have particular experience with the pagan/earth-based religion community.
