I am a Trauma-Informed Christian Counselor who specializes in depression, anxiety, and addictive behaviors associated with past trauma. I offer a place to reflect on your story with compassion as well as effective tools to heal and grow. Carl Jung said, "We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses." We do not heal by white knuckling our way through behavior modification, but by engaging with and processing the wounds of our past. My passion is stories, and regardless of who you are or what you have been through, your story is worth being told.
My counseling approach is client-centered and incorporates trauma-informed & attachment-based theories. I earned a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, I have completed certification in trauma-informed treatments (CTP), as well as trainings in EMDR, DBT, and CBT.
I know that it is not an easy step to take to begin therapy. It's not your job to trust me, it's my job to earn your trust by ensuring that your story is handled with care. Eric Gentry says, "No matter who you are or what you've been through... a good life is available to you."
