We will explore your current situation/presenting problem(s) in the initial session(s) to define your counseling goals. Then we will develop a plan to work toward those goals as we identify your strengths, any obstacles you might encounter along the way, and how you will know when those goals have been attained. I am confident that you will reach your desired healing and growth in this collaborative process. After achieving your goal(s) we may decide to set more goals or you may choose to end your counseling for now.
Therapy is solution focused and in many cases short term. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and/or Behavioral Therapy may be employed as part of the therapeutic process. Your participation is key to your success. Expect "homework" assignments that will be an integral part of your therapy.
A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) I provide outpatient Mental Health Counseling and Therapy. As a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) I offer Substance Abuse & Addictions Counseling, Assessments, Court Screenings, Substance Abuse Education and Secretary of State Substance Use Evaluations for Driver's License Restorations. I am also approved to provide supervision for LLPCs.
