I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I am so excited to work with you. I know that starting therapy can be overwhelming. As you take your first steps, my goal is to start where you are at and guide you in discovering what you need from therapy. I have been in this field for 10+ years. This has allowed me to work with a variety of clients (young, old, and everything in between). Some minority populations I have worked with include women, immigrants, children of immigrants, adoptees, refugees, and Hispanics.
My approach is client centered. Therapy is about reaching your own goals so that you can feel more confident in your life. That may mean processing past traumas, learning to set boundaries, and guidance in learning how to cope with stress. We can figure it out together. Note: Upon request, I can also use Catholic approaches.
First and foremost, I want my clients to feel heard and understood. As we progress, I want you to understand your mental health in a way that makes sense and feel confident in using learned skills in your everyday life. Therapy sessions can include humor, tears, and everything in between.
