If you've ever found yourself in a situation where you needed support but didn't know where to turn, you're not alone. I recall my initial attempts at seeking therapy in my younger days, where encounters with judgmental counselors deterred me from seeking help for a while. As life unfolded, it became evident that something wasn't right, prompting me to persistently search for a compassionate guide who would listen without judgment and aid me in my healing journey.
Allow me to introduce myself differently from the conventional therapist. I'm a mother of a special needs child, a survivor of domestic violence, and a former caregiver during my father's two liver transplants. Overcoming adversity, I now work as an independently contracted therapist at Solace Counseling Services.
My approach as a therapist is rooted in empathy and open-mindedness. My toolbox includes psychoeducation, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, EMDR, and motivational interviewing. My clients encompass a wide range of mental health challenges, from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD to addictions, grief, and DV survivors.
