About
I believe that we live in difficult and challenging times and there is no one who, at least on occasion, would not benefit from help in navigating their way through these times in order to have a better quality of life. I am here to listen to you and to help you achieve your vision for a happier and healthier life. I work with adults, teens, youth and children to address issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment to life changes, abuse, trauma, grief, behavioral problems, and relationship problems.
In my practice I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Using these approaches, you will learn how you can improve your own emotional state. Both are evidence-based practices which means that they have been studied and proven as effective methods for producing change.
For individuals who have experienced traumatic events, I utilize Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (http://ncctp.med.unc.edu ) and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am always interested in learning new skills and strategies so that I can better serve your needs. If we are doing life right, learning never ends.
