Liz Corona MFT-I, MFT-I, Marriage & Family Therapist Intern in Reno
**Accepting new clients** I have worked with many children and families, as well as couples and individuals. Some of the most rewarding work I do with couples is repairing damaged marriages. Through developing healthy communication patterns and identifying unmet expectations couples can rebuild trust, and increase relational fulfillment. Through Family Systems, I help families engage with one another in a healthy manner, strengthen family structures and reduce problematic behaviors. Working with individuals, my goal is to help them thrive and overcome struggles of grief, trauma, depression, and anxiety utilizing various components of motivational interviewing, positive psychology and CBT.
I have a Masters in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. I approach counseling with a mindset of holistic healing through mental health, spiritual health, and emotional health. I incorporate as much spirituality as you prefer.
I have training in play therapy and enjoy reaching children that struggle connecting in traditional counseling settings. With play therapy, we can create safety, unlock traumas and heal damaged attachments. I also use play therapy techniques within family counseling sessions to encourage parents to engage in their children's worlds.
