You’ve done therapy before. You understand your patterns, but still feel stuck. I offer EMDR and somatic therapy to help your nervous system actually shift, not just understand. Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and tired of understanding everything but not feeling better. You might notice patterns in your relationships, emotions, or reactions, yet still feel caught in them. Therapy with me is not about pushing through or reliving everything all at once. It’s about creating the conditions where your system can begin to feel safe enough to process what it hasn’t been able to before.
If you’ve tried EMDR before and it didn’t quite resonate, you’re not alone. I use Attachment-Focused EMDR and IFS-informed approaches to gently explore the parts of you shaped by past experiences. I will always prioritize safety, pacing, and the therapeutic relationship. Inner Light Mental Health Counseling was created with these principles at its core.
I work best with adults who have a history of trauma and are ready for a deeper level of healing. Many of my clients are high-functioning, used to pushing through, and are looking for something beyond traditional talk therapy. Group EMDR (Group Traumatic Episode Protocol - GTEP) is an evidence-informed trauma intervention designed to support individuals impacted by a shared stressful or traumatic experience. Unlike traditional individual EMDR therapy, participants do not need to verbally process their trauma in front of the group. GTEP is commonly used following workplace incidents, community tragedies, accidents, medical crises, school events, natural disasters, grief experiences, or other recent critical incidents. Self-pay only. Groups are offered on an as-needed basis and may be developed for families, organizations, colleagues, faith communities, or other groups seeking trauma-focused support.
