We live in a world that is both beautiful and painful. When the beauty seems hard to find, and the pain becomes too hard to hold, a therapist can help you find joy and meaning. Therapy can help you move toward what matters most, feel more balanced and connected, and experience life intentionally in the imperfect present. If you have questions about my practice or would like to schedule a consultation, please visit my website at lizandersonlicswma.com or contact me via email.
I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and in the treatment of trauma-related, mood, anxiety, and substance use disorders. Clients who have not found other forms of treatment to be helpful may find that DBT helps them to understand themselves, their thoughts and feelings, and their relationships.
I became a therapist because I have always believed in the power of humans to help each other through relationships that are thoughtful, open, compassionate, and mutually respectful. I have continued to practice because I have seen how therapy can help people to learn to care for themselves and make changes that are meaningful to them.
