I view therapy as a collaboration to help my clients learn about themselves, to access and build upon their internal natural resources, and to remove the barriers that inhibit their satisfaction and success. We work as a team to co-create a road map to reach goals. I do that by creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment to explore concerns and hopes. I serve as an effective and respectful sounding board, offering support to navigate in times of transition, cope with loss or illness, or deal with conflict.
I adapt a strategy based on a diverse blend of psychological theories, tools and skills, and most importantly, the client's needs. I draw on more than two decades of experience and training in traditional and holistic approaches, in a variety of settings including private practice, universities, and hospitals.
My style is warm, supportive, and I take an active approach to treatment. I think of my job as a helper, and at times a coach, a collaborator with clients to facilitate change.
