I believe that when grievers tell their stories, they are often struggling to make sense of the event. Grievers, telling and retelling their stories, are an integral part of the grieving process. I developed an approach for the grief journey, that removes the traditional stages and timeframes and banishes the word closure. The approach is more about weaving your loss into your life and honoring your journey instead of treating it like a problem to be solved. I have found that, "the only cure for grief, is to grieve."
Additionally, my experience as a volunteer firefighter and EMT at Camp Hill Fire Department, Company 14 led me to become a is a trainer and volunteer for the Keystone Crisis Intervention Team (KCIT) and to partner with On the Job and Off's First Responder's Assistance Program (FRAP).
My mission is to join with members of the community in a space that allows them to navigate stressful life events at their own pace. My goal is to facilitate the healing journey by identifying ways to process past experiences and embrace the possibilities of the future.
