I realize that all of these profiles start to sound alike, especially when you're already feeling overwhelmed. And all the different types of therapy can add to the confusion. In 25 years of practice, I've learned that it is the client-therapist relationship, more than the modality that heals.
My clients appear successful but struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and self-sabotage. Many have spent years prioritizing others and lost touch with what they want for themselves. These struggles have roots in early experiences where it wasn't safe to be fully authentic. They're stuck in survival mode and are exhausted.
I don't believe in cookie-cutter therapy. Even people with similar challenges may need different approaches, so I strive to be creative and flexible in my work. I aim to balance insight-oriented therapy with practicality—my clients gain self-awareness as well as concrete tools for nervous system regulation and boundary-setting. Both are essential for growth.
