I am a licensed clinical social worker and licensed addiction counselor. I have been involved in creating treatment programs, prevention programs, and intervention programs. Presently, I am in private practice, working with individuals from ages 13 to 80. I like using narrative therapy and hearing stories when appropriate. I am patient-centered and only offer insights when I am asked.
My main patient population suffers from anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also enjoy working with couples and families and have done so for 30 years. My approach is trauma-informed care, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral approaches. I like Cognitive behavior therapy, Solution-focused therapy, and Narrative therapy.
I will use a lot of reflection, listening, clarity, focusing, and humor, if appropriate. My approach is to assess and evaluate the patient's needs and use the communication style that works best for them.
