Therapy has a terrible PR team.
Most people don't wake up thinking, "You know what sounds fun? Telling a stranger about my feelings."
It's awkward. It's uncomfortable. Are you going to cry? Probably. (I have tissues for that.)
I get it because I've been there.
Then I found a counselor who actually got me, and it changed everything.
That's why I became a therapist. No therapist robot voice. My hope is to make therapy feel a little less awkward and a little less scary by doing it together. Just real conversations, a little humor, and someone who's genuinely in your corner.
I earned my Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience helping people work through things like depression and anxiety. I have specialized training in Brainspotting, a therapeutic approach that helps people process trauma, anxiety, and other difficult emotions.
When I’m not doing the counseling, I enjoy spending time with my family and doing cool things like rock collecting and crocheting.
