I believe that people are the experts on themselves and that my role as a therapist is to provide a safe environment in which to facilitate personal exploration, growth, and healing. I use evidence-based strategies including mindfulness, meditation, and yoga with a variety of issues. I work from a client-centered approach to support your journey toward wholeness, empowerment, and the expression of your authentic self in the world. We will set mutual goals together to help you to become healthier and happier in your life, and to ensure that the therapeutic process is tailored to your individual needs.
With over 25 years of experience as a therapist, I am constantly inspired by my clients' potential for personal growth and feel honored to be part of this process. I am also a 1000-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor with training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and we can utilize these strategies to help embody and deepen emotional growth.
My previous experience includes working at the University of Utah in the Medical School's Alcohol and Drug Abuse Clinic, as the Coordinator of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Education Center, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Educational Psychology Department. I have also been an Adjunct Professor in the Psychology Department of Westminster College.
