About
My work is influenced by psychodynamic, interpersonal and attachment theories. I believe that at the core of a healthy and satisfying life is the capacity to form intimate attachments and maintain ongoing satisfying relationships. Therapy is a place where individuals can tell the meaningful stories of their lives and explore habitual patterns and relational styles. Doing this successfully requires a setting where the person feels safe and comfortable enough to explore their past and present relationships. My goal is for a person to discover the cut-off parts of themrself, thus allowing change and the emergence of one's true self.

Lisa Mahon's Groups
Interpersonal, psychodynamic group
I co-lead my groups with Dr. Philip Flores. Our groups are interpersonally oriented with an emphasis on interpersonal interaction and how the past influences current life and relationships. Any issue that is important to you can be brought to the group. Many of our clients are in recovery or have experienced addiction issues within their families. We ask all member to make a 6 month commitment. An initial screening interview with both Dr. Flores and Dr. Mahon is required for anyone joining the group.
Interpersonal, psychodynamic group
See description for Group 1. I also have an Interpersonal Psychodynamic group every Thursday evening 5:30-7:00 pm.
