Clients who come to therapy with identified problems, issues, and diagnoses are also bringing their own strengths and solutions; even if they don't know it yet. It's an honor to partner with clients who are open to doing the work of therapy while trusting me to guide them through their process.
I use a variety of evidence-based approaches, delivered in a gentle, warm, yet focused manner. I specialize in anticipatory grief, loss, and bereavement. My most fulfilling work has been spent with families who have children facing chronic and life-limiting illnesses. I enjoy helping clients (often redefine) paths to quality, meaningful and authentic lives.
Research shows that the single most important indicator in the effectiveness of therapy is the quality of the therapist/client relationship. Engaging in a strong therapeutic alliance is my favorite thing about counseling.
