I'm Lisa Kennedy, and I'm a Licensed Independent Certified Social Worker who has been in practice for over 18 years and spent the last 12 years working for the military and in private practice. I consider myself a Behavioral Therapist and know that there's always a way to make positive changes in each of our lives, just by making some changes in our thoughts, actions and reactions to life transitions and challenges. Being a behavioral therapist, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solutions Focused Therapy as my main approaches to treatment.
I love working with individuals and couples and have worked with a vast array of issues that most people tend to deal with on a daily basis. I would like to think that I'm warm, inviting, honest, ethical, non-judgmental and empowering in how I work with people.
During our first session, it can always be a little scary for the client the first time meeting someone new. I try to be engaging and supportive, especially in the first session to try to put the client at ease.
