I believe counseling doesn't need to be a lengthy process so I use results-oriented therapeutic approaches such as Solution-Oriented Brief Therapy and EMDR Therapy. My ideal clients fall into one of two categories: Individuals who struggle with the effects of Sexual Abuse, Trauma, or PTSD; and Families: Blended Families, Affair Recovery, Couples Counseling, Sexual Intimacy Issues, and Family Counseling. I also do Family Relationship Counseling or Reunification Counseling with families involved in High-Conflict Divorce or Reunification cases.
I am certified in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy used in the treatment of Trauma and PTSD, and I have extensive training in mediation and working with High-Conflict Families. I also do experiential work using Sandtray Therapy.
Making that first call to a counselor can be very difficult: "Will I be judged?" " What will it be like to drudge up those old, awful memories?" "I'm so embarrassed." Please know that all of us who counsel, have been in counseling ourselves. I understand how hard it is to pick up that phone. I'm here for you and I will treat you with compassion and respect.
