A down-to-earth, irreverent straight shooter, I prefer therapy to be free of pretense and to be a partnership. While challlenges bring people to therapy, expect our time together to include humor and fun as well as exploration and effort. Together, we will focus on individual growth and resilience rather than diagnoses or one-size-fits-all treatment approaches. If you are feeling stuck and are ready for a new therapist with comprehensive and current approaches to treatment, we may be a good fit.
I work best with adult clients who are curious about their patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Many of my clients could be described as "adult children of..." who have had previous therapy. Working together, you will be empowered to act on your values and life direction by distinguishing helpful patterns from those creating unnecessary struggle.
As beneficial as sharing your story in therapy may be, traditional talk therapy is not always enough to support the real change you seek. I employ variety of experiential approaches to support change which may be especially helpful in recovering from trauma or loss.
