My name is Lindsey McLaughlin and I am a licensed clinical social worker. My approach utilizes a mix of modalities, with a focus on identifying distressing patterns to provide support and collaboration on helpful interventions. My goal is to foster self-compassion, curiosity, and understanding, in order to make meaningful and lasting change. The environment of my sessions is supportive, compassionate, and relational. I believe our relationship and trust with one another is one of the most important aspects of therapy. I also stive to have sessions feel productive and goal oriented.
I enjoy working with clients who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or are in current major life transition. Clients who have difficulty accessing their emotions or describe themselves as less emotional than others are another client I have a lot of experience and comfort treating due to the often misunderstanding of the core root.
Clients can expect our intake appointment to include a fairly broad overview of all that is going on in their world. Our first session is a great time to discuss reasons for therapy, overall goals in starting therapy, and generally getting to know each other.
