One of the most meaningful parts of the human experience is being in relationship. Whether it’s premarital, marital/partnership or divorce adjustment, I love to help couples discern the kindest, safest, most loving way to navigate their world. The relationships we had with our primary caregivers often serve as a template for how we negotiate romantic partnership, and those models don’t always work for us. We carry the stories of all attachment relationships with us, and they impact the way we interact with our partners. When the going gets tough and love itself is not enough, how do we turn toward our chosen ones instead of away?
I draw from several models when working with couples, catering therapy to the needs in the room. I have extensive training in experiential intervention, including the intensive experiential training at Onsite, Stan Tatkin's PACT 1 training, Terry Real's RLT Level 1 training, and I employ polyvagal theory and somatic experiencing techniques in all sessions.
I help couples increase trust, equity, and collaboration in their relationships, create secure functioning in their system, learn to better self-regulate and attune to partner, and disrupt and change dysfunctional cycles of conflict. Sessions are challenging and require open-mindedness and willing hearts, but they're creative, dynamic, and often even fun!
