If your child is struggling with anxiety or low self-esteem, I can help. Maybe they are having emotional meltdowns at home or struggling with worries about school. They might say things like "I'll never be as good as other kids." As a parent, you want the best for your child, but it can be difficult to know how to support them. As a therapist specializing in working with children, I help them develop their confidence and go back to being kids again. I also understand children aren't alone, and that you as parents have the biggest impact, so I work with parents to empower them to be the best parents they can be as well.

As both a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, I love working with children and their families to help them live happier lives. My education includes a BS in Psychology from Duke University and a MS in Counseling from the University of North Texas. I am also trained and experienced in incorporating expressive arts into therapy.

My goal is to develop a safe, warm, and caring relationship with each client. Whether it is through play, talk, or expressive arts, I can help your child and your family heal, grow, and feel better. Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT)

CPRT is a play-based treatment program for children presenting with behavioral, emotional, social, and attachment concerns. In a supportive group environment of 5-8 parents, parents learn specific skills that focus on enhancing a secure attachment and helping them attune to and respond more effectively to their child's underlying needs at the root of emotional and behavioral concerns, as well as how to effectively limit their child's misbehavior. Parents then implement the skills in weekly play sessions with their child outside of the group and get feedback on their skills from the facilitator.
