I have a heart and a passion for working with women, especially with those in the healthcare field. I have experience and enjoy working with doctors, nurses, counselors, psychologists, mothers, military members, ministers, and those who serve in a caretaker role of some capacity. I understand the challenges that come with being a caregiver or service member and needing help ourselves.
My faith is an important part of who I am as a counselor and I believe that God wants us to heal physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My approach to therapy is person-centered using motivational interviewing. I am licensed as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
I believe that the first step in change is being willing to recognize there is a problem and be willing to ask for help. That takes a lot of courage and I know it can be difficult knowing where to start. Trust is a big component of healing. I believe that a lot of pain comes from fear, shame, rejection, abandonment, and broken trust.
