Therapy is whatever works, and research tells us that the magic sauce is in the therapeutic relationship itself more than any specific intervention. So, we might need to just talk about the human condition, get all meta, process a recent stressor, or even laugh (often!) - and sometimes, we might need to use a structured treatment for a specific issue or diagnosis like EMDR for PTSD. We might need to role-play a difficult conversation as an experiential intervention, practice emotional regulation skills, or maybe you need a safe place to cry. Whatever it is, I work to help my clients both improve symptoms and get to the root.
Our work will honor what has meaning to you (past, present, future) and be guided by clinical training and experience. My areas of practice include anxiety, trauma and PTSD, infertility / IVF, attachment, gender, and LGBTQ+ challenges. I completed my MSW at University of Michigan in 2010 and have worked as a mental health therapist since 2015.
I work with my clients to build a deeper awareness about themselves and their experiences in order to foster self-compassion and change. This work always involves exploring how our genetics, family, and society might have influenced how we understand ourselves and the world. I have a commitment to promoting social justice.
