I have 25+ years of experience working with children & their families. Much of my experience is working with children in foster care, with families formed through adoption, with individuals who have histories of trauma( exposure to domestic violence, abuse or neglect) & with children who have attachment challenges. I have experience in working with children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder who are experiencing anxiety or other mental health symptoms. I have worked for many years with children and families going through separation and divorce. I use current developmental, relational and trauma informed models and frameworks in guiding my therapeutic assessments and interventions.
I specialize in working with young children 0-6 & their families who are experiencing challenges related to high levels of individual/ family stress, exposure to traumatic events, grief/ loss, or disruptions in relationships. I specialize in working with adopted children of all ages & any member of the adoption triangle, birth parents, adoptive parents & adopted child.
I help parents understand their child's behaviors/emotions. I look at individual strengths & how relationships support the child's development & the parent-child relationship. I am trained in Circle of Security Parenting, Adoption Competency, NMT,Child Parent Psychotherapy and endorsed in CA as an Infant, Family, and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist 0-5.
