I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I use the proven method of therapy, EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing). I also incorporate CBT and person-centered therapy in sessions. This combination seems to be effective in helping people work through the issues that are creating anxiety, depression, anger, and other feelings that interfere with relationships and daily living. I love helping people reach new levels of understanding about themselves. With this understanding comes tools for coping with issues that are solvable problems.
Women who have experienced trauma and/or sexual abuse, are my main focus. This also includes anger issues, depression and anxiety. Creating a safe place is paramount to being able to communicate effectively with my client. I tend to be direct, non judgmental, and gracious in communication with clients.
The first session it is important for me to get to know my client better and create an alliance in order to work together the most effective way for the client to be able to attain goals we have decide upon.
