Creating a safe place where someone can feel safe and heard is important in healing. As a clinician specializing in PTSD/trauma, substance abuse, and mental health therapy, it is my passion to create that space where people feel heard and accepted. Many times, challenges develop that keeps us stuck. Some of these challenges may show up as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, abusive relationships that have fear and shame attached. I provide a space that is open and accepting and would love to work with you!
So many people address their substance abuse but fail to address the core issue. Substance abuse tends to be symptom of a trauma along with depression and anxiety. For most of my career, I have worked with trauma and addiction. As an EMDR certified therapist, we will work on changing how the brain remembers a trauma.
Many were taught that when bad things happen, you put it behind you and move on. Those events don’t always show up as a memory but, they can be a triggered feeling or an emotion. We can work on changing those feelings so that they don’t continue to interfere with your life. Together, we can find that hope and drive to keep moving forward.
