My name is Lincoya Young I am LPCC, in Texas, Calif, Oregon. I have been in the counseling profession for over 20 yrs. My approach is therapy is the Client is the expert, and ultimately holds the solution to the problem. Children, Couples, Family. Really enjoy working with children in a play therapy milieu. Client Centered Solution Focus, with a strong emphasis on the client being the expert. Empathic, validating very supportive. Focus on strengths, not pathology.
After completing my first graduate program I knew that I wanted to be a therapist. So I went back to school and got a master in counseling. It was journey I moved from Calif to Texas and started a whole new life without my family and friends. The journey at times was arduous and challenging. But with faith and determination I made it through.
